“A Selah Moment!”

“Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.”

(Psalm 68:19)

Greetings and blessings to the Household of Faith! We’ve gathered here today because had it not been for Jesus Christ, where would we be? And we are bound to worship God this day, recognizing Him for being the King of Kings! I certainly pray that each of you experienced a blessed Christmas holiday and spent quality time with your family & friends.

Each year, I end with the bulletin message, “A Selah Moment!” Today represents the last Sunday for 2015. And as we look back over this year, it’s needful that we consider what God has done for us. The word ‘selah’ occurs seventy-four (74) times in the scripture, primarily in the book of Psalms. While there has been much conjecture and speculation by some theologians, it is generally believed that ‘selah’ means for one to “pause and reflect.” We here at Bethel need then to have “A Selah Moment,” so we can pause and reflect what God has done for us!

Yes, you may have had many challenges in 2015; but with all that was sent your way you’ve made it to the end of the year. The adversary, Satan himself, did not want you to make it into 2016… BUT GOD! This has been the “Year of Happy” and you must take time to pause and reflect on all that God did for you! Whether you recognize it or not, it HAS BEEN a year of “Happy!” and Bethel can testify that we have seen God do things for us suddenly! Just consider all the… spiritual & physical healings, mental & emotional deliverance, job promotions, financial breakthroughs, marriage & family reconciliations, new cars & homes, and just to have our heart keep beating without our mental awareness is a blessing! “Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. SELAH.” (Psalm 68:19)

But your reflection cannot remain with just the past! It also must be the force that catapults you to the future. I look forward with great anticipation of where God is going to take us in 2016. Even on this last Sunday to go, we have so far baptized nearly 100 persons, with over 165 new & returning members, and 55 people receiving the Holy Ghost! God is great & greatly to be praised! We’re on the brink of experiencing an exciting and awesome move of God! I encourage each of you to prepare your schedule now for this year’s Vision Weekend that will be January 29-31, 2016. Let us continue to pray for one another. From myself, Lady Angela & the girls, thank you for your expressions of love on Christmas and we are wishing each of you all the blessings of a prosperous New Year!
