LOCAL CHURCH SUPPORTS THOSE WHO HAVE LOST LOVED ONES & FRIENDS TO VIOLENCE!

On Sunday, March 31st, the New Bethel Church in Kansas City, Kansas will recognize all members that have lost loved ones to violence and honor the lives of the victims. The service theme is “We Are Survivors”. According to a recent article reported by the Kansas City Star, the homicide rate per capita in Kansas City remains one of the highest in the nation for a big city. Senior Pastor, A. Glenn Brady recognizes how violence has impacted families within the congregation and throughout the metro. There is a large number of individuals that worship regularly at the New Bethel Church who have lost relatives and friends to violence. It’s important to Pastor Brady that we support families through this journey and do all we can in our communities to stop the violence!

The service will begin at 10:45AM on Sunday, March 31st. It will include a special video presentation, anti-violence literature, mental health resources and an encouraging message from guest minister, Dr. Gary Hopkins. Dr. Hopkins, now residing in the Bay Area of California, is the former pastor of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Kansas City, MO. Following the service, there will be a special balloon release and reception. The reception will include representation from community organizations such as Metropolitan Organization to Counter Sexual Assault, War Cry, Mothers Inc, the NBCCDC and more.
