This Black History Month, we want to celebrate Black Art! On Sunday, February 25th, we encourage all young people, Pre-K through 12th grade, to bring a visual art piece to display at the New Bethel Church.

According to study.com, Visual Arts refers to art forms that express their message, meaning, and emotion through visual means. Visual arts may be categorized as decorative, commercial, or fine art, such as painting, photography, or sculpture. Art is usually subjective and may be interpreted in various ways.

The only requirement to participate is that the art represent Black History in some way. This will be an exciting way to celebrate the past, present and future of Black Americans.

If you have any questions, please email amaris.brady@newbethelkc.org. Our youth volunteers will be happy to help your child come up with a visual art idea that will capture their creativity! We look forward to seeing what our young people work on at home and bring to the New Bethel Church on Sunday, February 25th.
