Adjusting Your Perspective…of Jesus …of Ministry …of Self

Man is a trichotomy which means our composition is body, soul, and spirit. So much time is spent on the body & soul, that often our ‘spiritual man’ is neglected. So we call a time of consecration to bring attention to our spiritual wellbeing.

Fasting, with prayer, meditation & study allows us a clear channel to hear what God is speaking. It is essential that we ‘Adjust Our Perspective’ of Jesus, of ministry, and of self in order to have clarity for our purpose in destiny. Perspective is our point of view or how we regard something. We need correct perspective so we are not deceived.

This is the Year of God’s Accomplishment, so we can’t lose focus of His promises for us as we prepare for 2020. Each day there are specific reading assignments that hopefully will help you to adjust your perspective.

The Principles of Fasting

THE BODY: Our Bodies are effected as our diet is changed during a time of fasting, and for some in very dramatic ways. Many men and women experience detoxifying from caffeine, chemicals, and sugar. The symptoms are most often headaches, leg cramps, pain in lower back, fatigue and malaise. Most people lose weight during the time of fasting. And many report healings from diabetes, allergies, arthritis and cancer.

THE SOUL: Our Soul is also greatly impacted during a time of fasting. The soul is the seat of our emotions, intellect, personality and will. It is in the ‘soulish realm’ where we experience cravings, frustration, anger… and even happiness. During the fast your soul may very well rebel against the dramatic change in your diet. Winning this battle over the flesh is often one of the most powerful lessons during the fast.

THE SPIRIT: Our Spirit is the born-again part of us that surrenders to God. We become filled with the Holy Spirit when we yield our spirits to Him. During this time of fasting we want to put our spirit in charge of the other two parts of us. When our flesh is acting out with a craving, we take control of it by our spirit.
