The Counseling & Spiritual Admonition Launch will be held on Saturday, March 10th at 12 Noon. The theme is “Will You Be Made Whole?”. This event will include a presentation from Pastor Brady then special breakout sessions within the following areas…

  • Financial Consulting
  • Marriage/Family Counseling
  • Addiction Support
  • Bereavement/Grief Support

*An additional support group will be for those who have family members in prison

This is an event that will be a blessing to EVERYONE that attends! Below is a description of each area that will be launched under this ministry!


Financial Consulting – Leaders: Janette Sims & Susan Stewart

Help support individuals as they work toward improving their financial well-being by providing personalized goal-driven plans. Offering information and guidance; specializing in Social Security Benefits.

About Janette Sims – Having the heart to help those who struggle with financial matters and blessed to analyze information and provide a solution, I knew, for people to listen, I needed the education and certification to validate me.  I hold a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Baker University, Baldwin City, KS and a Master of Science degree in Family Studies and Human Services, Specialization in Family Financial Planning from Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS.  I have a Certificate in Personal Financial Planning and I am a Candidate to sit for the CFP® (Certified Financial Planner) Certification Examination.  I have over 20 years of accounting and finance experience.  Because of my love to teach others, I was a volunteer to teach Economics to 3rd Graders at Hawthorne Elementary School for Junior Achievement of Middle America, Inc. and I have enjoyed being a facilitator/teacher for various Financial Workshops for adults and teenagers.

About Suzanne Stewart – I have an Associates in Accounting from Kansas City Kansas Community College.  From Grantham University, I hold a Bachelors in Business and is currently working on my Masters in Performance Improvement in Human Resources, anticipated graduation is August 2018.  I currently work for Social Security, but prior to my current job I was a Tax Accountant for a CPA in Leavenworth, Kansas and have been a Tax Consultant for over 30 years, filing tax returns for businesses, churches and individuals.


Marriage & Family Counseling – Leader: Nicole Hernandez

Its’ purpose is to provide mental health counseling, at every aspect, to those seeking greater understand of self, or in need of change under the categories of Marriage, Couple, Individual, and Family Counseling

About Nicole Hernandez – I am currently a third-year Master of Arts graduate Intern with an emphasis in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling with the MidAmerica Nazarene University, in Olathe, KS. I aspire to open and operate a private therapy practice at the conclusion of my academic studies and upon licensure. I have well over (1000) hours of actual face-to-face with clients and desire to bring my expertise to this ministry.


Substance Abuse Support (Dry Bones) –  Leader: Carl McKinney (Assisted by Laurence Smith and Jacque Johnson)
This area will focus on peer to peer help thru meetings initially, then developing into an addiction full service support entity in the future.
About Carl McKinney –  Having been delivered over 14 years from 25 years of full blown addiction and addictive behaviors resulting in loss of relationships, property and freedom, I possess the ability to recognize in others the behaviors and offer them the solutions which lead me to a “delivered lifestyle” as well as maintaining sobriety thru the execution of biblical principles and AA Steps to recovery.

Bereavement & Grief Support: Leader – Mary Green (Assisted by Rita Burkholder)

The mission of Bereavement and Grief Support is to offer quality care to the members of NBC and their families during and after the loss of an immediate family member.

About Mary Green – I have been a bereavement facilitator for over 20 years. I served in this capacity at the Mt. Calvary Pentecostal Church under the Leadership of Bishop Norman L. Wagner. I was responsible for training and leading three different teams in facilitating bereavement and aftercare to the members of the church and their families. I have attended workshops and worked closely with Hospice of the Valley in Ohio and administered workshops at one of the nursing homes in Ohio on death and transition. Once I arrived at New Bethel, I was appointed to work in the same capacity. I also provided grief support to families of clients while serving as a Home Health Care provider in Youngstown, Ohio.
